Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 8 picked up from the fight between Katsumi and Pickle. After losing one of his limbs to Pickle, defeat is certain for Doppo’s son. Will the chairman of the ShinShinkai Karate School hold another trick up his sleeve?

Baki Hanma is based on the manga, ‘Baki the Grappler’ by Keisuke Itakagi. Season 2 of Baki Hanma is divided into two parts, with Part 2, titled ‘The Father vs Son Saga’ all set to release on August 24, 2023.

Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 7: Recap

Katsumi decides to take on Pickle and prove himself worthy in front of his peers. He uses his newly mastered technique, The Mach Punch, and knocks Pickle out. In doing so, he completely damages his hand. 

Pickle is unfazed by Katsumi’s attacks. He decides to take a nap during the fight as he believes that he’s already won. Pickle wakes up from his nap and rushes towards Katsumi who has run out of weapons and attacks.

Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 8: Pickle’s Prayers

The whole stadium watches quietly as Pickle stands tall over Katsumi. He yanks Katsumi’s arm with his teeth and Katsumi falls unconscious to the ground. Katsumi has already decided on giving up his life to Pickle after what he believes, was his greatest fight. 

Tokugawa orders his guards to stop Pickle from eating Katsumi. Doppo warns Tokugawa that if he does so, he will bring disgrace to Katsumi and that he and Pickle had an unwritten agreement between them.

Pickle meanwhile kneels on his legs and offers prayers to Katsumi. He is astounded by a creature so small had strength equal to the dinosaurs he fought centuries ago. He decides to not eat Katsumi and leaves the arena with her hunger being satisfied in a different way.

Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 8: Growth

Katsumi is recuperating from the damages. He is visited by Retsu Kaioh and Baki in the hospital. Baki promises that he will avenge Katsumi and come victorious. Meanwhile, Doppo invites Yujirou Hanma for a drink. 

The two, arguably, the strongest fighters in Baki, also happen to be old friends. Doppo tells Yujirou that he was too lenient on Katsumi, which led to his defeat. Yujirou assures him that Baki, who has the Hanma blood in him will be the one to defeat Pickle.

Baki is busy training for his fight with Pickle. He feels goosebumps and is ready to take on the primitive man. Baki Hanma Season 2 Episode 8 ended with Jack Hanma making his way through the arena to fight Pickle. The steroid monster v. primitive man, it will be interesting to see how this fight escalates, especially because the two are evenly matched in their physique.
