The Ones Within, entitled Nakanohito Genome [Jikkyouchuu] in Japanese, is one of the many shows that fall under the comedy and drama genre as it revolves around the theme of video games. The Ones Within narrates the story of Iride Akatsuki, who got teleported into the world of the game called the infamous ‘Nakanohito Genome’ after he unlocks hidden content in the game.
The Ones Within began as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osora. The manga series started its serialization in 2014 through the pixiv comic website. It has been collected in ten tankobon volumes by Media Factory, a Japanese publisher, and Kadokawa Future Publishing brand company.
Luckily, fans from outside Japan can also enjoy the manga series, as it was scanlated into English by Kirei Cake with the first chapter, and then it was taken over by Träumerei Scans for the rest.
The Ones Within Season 2 Renewal Status
An anime adaptation of The Ones Within was announced through the manga’s official Twitter account on May 23, 2018, and later revealed to be a television series on September 13 of the same year. The anime adaptation was animated by SILVER LINK, the studio that has released a few popular shows such as Chivalry of a Failed Knight and Kokoro Connect.
The anime adaptation of The Ones Within first premiered on July 7, 2019, and ran for 12 episodes before concluding on September 22 of the same year. It was followed by a single OVA episode released on February 7, 2020. The OVA contained an original story included with the 10th volume of the manga series. Up until now, many fans are still craving to see the continuation of their beloved series. So, what is the renewal status of The Ones Within Season 2? Has the studio said anything regarding a sequel?
