Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Suguru vs Toji
Suguru attacks Toji and releases the Cursed Rainbow Dragon on him. Toji easily manages to deflect the dragon’s attack. The two are casually strolling ‘The Tombs of the Star and the Forbidden Vault’ and Toji explains to Suguru how he managed to get so far.
Toji also reveals to Suguru about his Heavenly Pact and his abilities. Suguru has had enough of Toji and launches another attack on the zero curse user. Toji easily slices through the thick hide of the Dragon and kills it. Toji even defeats Suguru’s apparition that traps him in a Simple Domain using his non-cursed tools.
Suguru catches Toji off guard and decides to use his Curse Manipulation technique to swallow Toji’s cursed spirit which holds his weapons. However, this backfires and Toji overpowers Suguru. He decides not to kill Suguru as he is unsure what would happen to the Cursed Spirits inside Suguru if he dies.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 Review: The Star Religious Group
Toji takes back the corpse of Riko Amanai to a member of the Star Religious Group. Yep, the Star Plasma Vessel is dead. The member of the Star Group pays Toji and reveals to him the motives behind the assassination. They worship Lord Tengen Sama and plan on stopping the assimilation to happen.
Toji after separating ways with his mediator, is confronted by someone. A special someone who he thought was dead. You guessed it right, Satoru Gojo is BACK! An ecstatic Gojo reveals that he managed to use a Reverse Cursed Technique when Toji stabbed him and that he will kill him.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Gojo vs Toji Pt.2
Toji realizes that Gojo has awakened his Limitless abilities and decides to attack him with everything. Gojo uses his Cursed Technique Reversal: Red and easily fends off Toji. Manga readers will remember that Toji was a former Zenin Clan member and knows a lot about Gojo’s Limitless Techniques, however, Gojo has one hidden ace under his sleeve.
There’s a reason why Gojo is the strongest sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu High. Before using his ‘Hollow Technique: Purple’ he relapses on the events and feels responsible for what happened to Amanai. Using this technique, he defeats Toji who is now on the verge of death.
Before dying, Toji tells Gojo about his son, Megumi Fushiguro, who will be sold off to the Zenin Clan. In a post-credit scene, Gojo and Suguru retrieve the body from one of the Star Religious Group’s Facilities in the city, as they are about to leave, Gojo asks Suguru if they should kill him to which he responds:
“No need to, it is very important for there to be a reason to do so, even for a jujutsu sorcerer”
Episode 4 ended with more burning questions on our minds. What happened to the morales of Suguru? Can Riko Amanai be revived using Reversed Curse Techniques? Can Master Tengen merge with the corpse? Hopefully, all our questions are answered in the coming episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is available on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
