SK8 the Infinity is a Japanese original anime series produced by Bones that aired from January to April 2021. The anime follows the adventures of Reki, a high school skater who introduces Langa, a transfer student from Canada, to the underground world of “S”, a dangerous downhill skateboarding race.

The anime received positive reviews from fans and critics for its animation, characters, and soundtrack. On July 30, 2021, it was announced that SK8 the Infinity will have a second season and an original video animation (OVA).

On the official Twitter account of the original anime SK8 the Infinity it was announced that it will continue with a second season and will also receive a new OVA episode. You can see a first teaser below.

There is no official release date for SK8 the Infinity Season 2 yet, The second season as well as the OVA are again directed by Hiroko Utsumi (Banana Fish) at Studio BONES. Ichiro Ohkouchi (Princess Principal) is writing the screenplay again, while Michinori Chiba is contributing the character design and Ryo Takahashi (Citrus) is providing the music.

The twelve-episode first season of SK8 the Infinity aired on Japanese television between January and April 2021. It is not yet known when the second season will start and the OVA will be released. Of course, we will keep you up to date as usual.

  • Reki Kyan (voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka in Japanese and Matt Shipman in English): A cheerful and energetic high school sophomore who loves skateboarding and is addicted to “S” races. He works at a local skate shop part-time as a mechanic and creates his own custom decks. He quickly becomes best friends with Langa and introduces him to skateboarding and “S”.
  • Langa Hasegawa (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi in Japanese and Howard Wang in English): A half-Japanese student who transferred to Okinawa from Canada with his mother and ended up transferring into Reki’s class. He is a politician who is obsessed with finding his “Eve”, a skater who can match his skills and passion. He is cruel and manipulative, and targets Reki and Langa for his own amusement.
