Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis, directors of ‘Dungeon & Dragons’ are all set to bring together Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh for the action-adventure movie ‘Mayday’. Mayday is part of a collaboration between Apple Original Films and Skydance.
This is the first movie in which Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds and Oscar winner Keneth Branagh will be working together.
At present, very little is known about the movie but there have been rumours going around that the work for the movie has already begun at Skydance. The writing for the movie was finished before the ongoing WGA strike as per Deadline.
Ryan Reynolds
With the actor playing the lead role in the movie, we can expect a similar character to his role in Red Notice, co-starring Dwayne Johnson & Gal Gadot. The 46-year-old Canadian-American actor, producer, and Entrepreneur is an extremely popular face on the Hollywood scene. His ability to pull off both action, as well as comedy, has risen him to prominence.
Ryan Reynolds began his acting career in the early 1990s but it was his role of Michael Bergen from the sitcom. “Two Guys and A Girl’ (1998-2001) brought him mainstream success. He also starred in movies such as ‘National Lampoon’s Van Wilder’ (2002), ‘Blade: Trinity’ (2004), and ‘The Proposal’ (2009)
Reynolds is more famously known for his iconic role as Marvel Superhero Deadpool in 2016. Ryan perfectly played the role of the anti-hero which was a massive success at the box office and also became one of the top-grossing R-rated movies of all time. He also starred in the sequel of the movie ‘Deadpool 2’ (2016).
Ryan Reynolds is currently shooting for ‘Deadpool 3’ which is set to release next year.
Apart from acting, Ryan Reynolds has also ventured into producing. His production company ‘Maximum Effort’ in the involvement of several movies. Ryan Reynolds has his own gin brand, ‘Aviation American Gin’ and also co-owes a football club in England, Wrexham A.F.C which recently was promoted to English Football League Two.
Kenneth Branagh
Kenneth Branagh is a 62-year-old British actor, director, and producer. He is the co-founder of the Renaissance Theatre Company. Kenneth began his career in theatre before moving to films. He gained International recognition for his directional debut, ‘Henry V’ (1989), and earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Director and Best Actor.
Kenneth took the Oscar for best original screenplay for his work in Belfast. Kenneth Branagh is also set to feature in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy. Later this year, Branagh plans to return to the theatre to play King Lear in a Shakespearean play which will also be directed by him.
