Dwayne  Johnson joined fast and furious franchise in the fifth installment titled fast five which was released in 2011. In the film he portrayed the role of Luke Hobbs , a diplomatic security service agent with apprehending the film’s main characters, Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) and his crew. Johnson’s addition to the franchise brought a new dynamic to the series, as his character became a formidable adversary turned ally for Toretto’s team.

After his debut in “Fast Five,” Johnson reprised his role as Luke Hobbs in subsequent films. He appeared in “Fast & Furious 6” (2013), where Hobbs teams up with Toretto’s crew to take down a common enemy. He then returned for “Furious 7” (2015), “The Fate of the Furious” (2017), and “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019), a spin-off focusing on his character Hobbs and Jason Statham’s character, Deckard Shaw.

The Rock reportedly bent DC Studios to his will and ultimately got himself and Henry Cavill fired while tanking the next superhero movie at the box office.

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel feud

  In November 2021, Diesel publicly called out Johnson, urging him to return to the franchise and fulfill his important role. However, Johnson had previously stated that he would not be returning to the series. He clarified that while he would always support the cast and wish for the franchise’s success, he had no intention of returning.

In a CNN interview in 2021 Jhonson, said: “I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return,” he said.

He added, “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”

The American actor- Dwayne Johnson also know as Rock for his earlier profession-wrestler, announces in a video posted on twitter , said : So I am 100% confirming to you guys around the world that yes, it is true. Hobbs is back. Hobbs is back in the Fast & Furious franchise.”

He added that it has been “so incredibly, personally gratifying and satisfying and humbling and exciting to see” reactions from fans to the most recent installment ,Fast X, also known as Fast & Furious 10, which teased a Hobbs appearance in a mid-credit scene.

Additionally, Johnson will star in a standalone film centered around Hobbs, set between the events of Fast X and the upcoming Fast and Furious 11. This news came as a surprise to fans who were not expecting Johnson’s appearance in the film. The post-credit scene in Fast X provided a glimpse of Hobbs receiving a chilling message from the antagonist, Dante (played by Jason Momoa), who is seeking revenge for his father’s death.

Overall, Dwayne Johnson’s return as Hobbs has generated excitement among fans, and his involvement in the Fast and Furious franchise is highly anticipated.
