On the official Twitter account of the anime adaptation of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” it was announced that The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will start in October 2023 on Japanese TV. A new teaser is available below.

The third season is being created under the direction of director Hitoshi Haga, who participated in the second season as episode director, at studio Kinema Citrus. Keigo Koyanagi is again writing the script, while Franziska van Wulfen (Animation Director on “Bocchi the Rock!”) and Sana Komatsu (Animation Director on “Lycoris Recoil”) are creating the character designs.
Once again, the voices familiar from the first two seasons will be heard in the main roles. Kevin Penkin (“Made in Abyss”) is again responsible for the background music. The streaming service Crunchyroll shows the new episodes with English subtitles in simulcast.
The 25-episode first season of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” aired on Japanese television between January and June 2019, followed by the 13-episode second season, which premiered in April 2022. Both seasons are already available on demand on Crunchyroll.
