Senryu Girl is one of the many slice-of-life that has humorous comedic elements and because of that, it will surely be the perfect candidate if you’re looking for an anime that’s light and relaxing.
The series narrates the story of Nanako Yukishiro, a pretty and cute sixteen-year-old girl, but she is no ordinary! She is mute and taciturn, so instead of speaking, she uses senryuu—17-syllable-long poems to communicate with others.
Senryu Girl began life as a Japanese manga series originally entitled Senryuu Shoujo that is written and illustrated by Masakuni Igarashi. It started its serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on October 19, 2016. The manga series ran for 185 chapters that have been compiled into thirteen volumes before concluding on April 22, 2020.
Senryu Girl Season 2 Renewal Status
An anime adaptation of the manga series Senryu Girl was first announced on December 6, 2018. The adaptation was animated by Connect, the studio that is best known for its anime releases such as Strike the Blood and Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody.
The anime series Senryu Girl premiered on April 6, 2019, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on June 22 of the same year. The anime adaptation of Senryu Girl has successfully attracted many fans during its airing time, and many of them are craving a sequel. So, what is the renewal status of the anime? Has Senryu Girl Season 2 been announced?
Unfortunately, there have been no official announcements regarding a sequel. With that being said, Senryu Girl Season 2 still remains a mystery up to this point.

Unfortunately, once again, the chances of Senryu Girl Season 2 would be close to nil. The main reason is that the manga series of Senryu Girl has ended, which leaves no room for another adaptation. At this point, making a new sequel would be completely unnecessary, as there is nothing left to promote now.
However, in terms of source material, the production team would have more than enough of them to make a new season. The first season of Senryu Girl has only covered around 49 out of 185 chapters of the manga series. Despite that, the adaptation skipped some of the parts of the manga, so it is recommended to read the manga from the beginning if you’re interested.
At the end of the day, it is best to believe Senryu Girl Season 2 would never be released. Considering the points above, it seems that the anime series Senryu Girl was made as a one-time adaptation/season only. To the students of Karai High School, Nanako Yukishiro is a pretty, calm, and cute 16-year-old. However, Nanako is no ordinary girl, as she cannot speak! Instead, Nanako communicates through senryuu—17-syllable-long poems.
Sixteen-year-old Eiji Busujima used to be a delinquent in his middle school years. However, he has since turned over a new leaf due to his newfound love of senryuu. Despite his menacing looks, Eiji gets along well with Nanako as a fellow member of the Literature Club.
Even though Nanako is mute, the adorable pair have no problem communicating with each other. Senryuu Shoujo is a light and relaxing story of two teenagers’ daily lives.
