Fans praise Oppenheimer, Hail Nolan as one of the Greatest Directors

Is this Christopher Nolan's Ultimate?

Don't miss

Oppenheimer‘, Christopher Nolan’s historical biopic is finally here and the movie is being hailed as one of the greatest movies in the history of cinema. Oppenheimer has scored 93% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. The film made $ 10.5 million from Thursday Night Previews and is expected to make $ 50 million in the opening week.

Fans are queuing up to watch both, Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ as well as Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’. While Barbie is said to outperform Oppenheimer at the box office, Nolan’s Oppenheimer is doing better as per the critiques. Fans of Christopher Nolan are claiming it to be his best movie yet. That is one hell of a compliment considering the director has Interstellar (2014), Inception (2010), and The Dark Knight Trilogy, to his name.

Oppenheimer – The ‘American Prometheus’

The movie is based on the book ‘American Prometheus’ by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The book is based on the life of the physicist, Robert J. Oppenheimer who helped the United States develop its first atomic weapons. It follows the life of Robert, his work on the Manhattan Project, and other important events in his life.

In the movie, Cillian Murphy plays the role of the physicist and well, his performance is top-notch. Alongside, Cillian, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and Florence Pugh also display stunning performances in their respective roles.

This is the first movie to be shot in IMAX 65MM and 65MM wide format. The quality of the movie is unprecedented. Cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema says that each frame has 18k resolution, the highest ever. The movie’s visuals are breathtaking.

Along with the cinematography, Ludwig Göransson’s score is worthy of adding another one to his Academy Award collection. The plot, narrative, and visual effects, all of them perfectly go in line with each other to deliver a masterpiece that is well worth the 3 hours.

Oppenheimer – “The Oscars are coming!”

Hopes were high for Christopher Nolan. This was his comeback from Tenet (2020), a movie well ahead of its time that did not do well at the box office as a result of the pandemic. Apart from that, this is the first movie by Christopher Nolan which is not being distributed by Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. ‘Barbie’ was expected to outperform the biopic considering the genre and the target audience for the movie but in terms of cinematic elements, it’s fair to say that Oppenheimer is the better movie.

An adult movie with no action whatsoever, it has got a Cinemascore of A on a scale from A+ to F. Also, the movie is 18+ so a lot of Nolan fans who have been watching him for nearly 2 decades are the target audience for the film.

Regardless of the numbers, Oppenheimer is going down in history as one of the greatest movies ever. Grab your tickets to the nearest IMAX screens to take in Nolan’s Greatest.
