Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Are You Ready For The End Of An Era?

What to expect from the most anticipated Marvel movie of 2023

Don't miss

Starting from a less-favourite superhero team from Marvel’s comic universe, Guardians Of The Galaxy became one of the top favourites in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the hands of James Gunn as director. The group that started their career as space pirates who united by accident have become the heroes that Marvel fans have been waiting for.

Star Lord, Gamora, Drax The Destroyer, Nebula, Mantis, Groot, Rocket, and Kraglin Obfonteri meet strangely before they come together to save the universe. Starting with Guardians Of The Galaxy, released in 2014, almost ten years later, Guardian Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is awaited by millions of Marvel fans worldwide.

The continuation of James Gunn’s position as director of this trilogy had problems due to scandal allegations that led to Gunn in 2018. However, after being re-employed by Disney, he succeeded in continuing the story built since 2014.

In the genius hands of James Gunn, every film from Guardians Of The Galaxy always feels fresh with various characteristics that have become his trademark. As far as we know, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is much darker than previous instalments.

To note, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 starts playing in U.S. theatres on Thursday evening, May 4. It is 150 minutes long and rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements.

Reviews From Film Critics About Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3

Regarding Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Screenrant believes the film is a triumphant finale, not just for the Guardians, but for Gunn’s time with Marvel. The film also strikes the right balance — it works perfectly within the Guardians series and the MCU overall.

In general, this film still includes things unique to James Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 mixes Gunn’s usual wacky action and laugh-out-loud humour with a grounded, emotional story to create something special.

For the actors, Screenrant also revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 marks as much an ending of their time in the MCU as Gunn. They ensure the writer-directors story is brought to life with as much emotion as possible. Cooper and Sean Gunn, who voice young Rocket, are standouts, partly because they get some of the most emotionally resonant scenes to work with. Pratt, as the apparent lead of the franchise, is good, with his particular charm buoyed by Gunn’s script. The other actors — Gillan, Bautista, Klementieff, Saldaña, and Diesel — are also strong in their own right.

Beyond the story and the performances, according to Screenrant, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s greatest accomplishment is showing how Gunn’s filmmaking has evolved and matured since the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie nearly a decade ago. This is evident in many aspects of the film, from the way Drax has evolved from a character who punches down on the female characters (calling Gamora a “whore” in the first film and making Mantis fun in the second), to the implementation of music in Vol. 3.

Music has always been a big part of the series, but it’s woven so much more seamlessly into the third film and carries more weight, setting the tone of each scene phenomenally well. The film is also more visually interesting, with Gunn experimenting with how the scenes are shot and getting weird with it in a fun way. It’s exciting to see how far the filmmaker has come and where he goes next.

What’s the Story of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?

There are several things that we already know about the plot of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3. From the official trailers released by Marvel, this film will tell a story about when Rocket Raccoon’s (Bradley Cooper) past caught up with him, and he’s being hunted by the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), a would-be god who created Rocket.

When Rocket is injured, it’s up to his closest friends — Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) — to save him. They’ll need the help of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), who’s made a new life with the Ravagers, especially since Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) is making their mission more difficult. As the Guardians race to save Rocket and take down the High Evolutionary, it remains to be seen if they all make it out in one piece.

Other plots from Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. The other 3 are not yet widespread. We must be patient until this film is officially shown in theatres.
