Oppenheimer’s Opening look REVEALS the race against the Russians

More visuals from Oppenheimer are here

Don't miss

Universal Pictures dropped the first look for ‘Oppenheimer‘ a week before its release. Based on the visuals, Oppenheimer will live up to the legacy of Christopher Nolan, in fact, it may even outperform Christopher Nolan’s best movies to date.

Oppenheimer is based on the novel ‘American Prometheus’ which follows the life of the physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer. Robert J. Oppenheimer helped the United States develop its first nuclear weapons.

What makes Oppenheimer so special, is, of course, Christopher Nolan. Nolan’s movies are known for their intricate story-telling and minimal use of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) and fans cannot wait to see how Nolan tackles Oppenheimer. The movie is all set for a theatrical release on July 21, 2023.

Oppenheimer – Opening Look

The exclusive five-minute Opening Look was edited by Jennifer Lame, the film’s official editor. The Opening revealed new scenes, images, and sounds from the IMAX-shot epic thriller. Special mention to the breathtaking score by Academy Award Winner, Ludwig Goransson which contributes to the visuals.

The movie was shot on IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format cameras, for the first time ever. While our computer and phone screens cannot do justice to the visuals, fans are excited to see the movie on the big IMAX screens.

Finally, we saw more of Robert Downey Jr. who plays the role of Lewis Strauss, who is a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. The scene shows Lewis discussing a meeting with Robert (Cillian Murphy) and others, checking on the progress of the Manhattan Project.

The scenes from the opening had everything. From the scene of Robert and Leslie Groves (Matt Damon) recruiting scientists for the project to the small glimpse of the detonation, Christopher Nolan for sure knows not to oversell his movies.

The Manhattan Project was a top-secret U.S. government research project aimed at developing an atomic bomb. Robert was appointed as the scientific director of the project which went to build and detonate the first atomic bomb, which came to be known as the Trinity Test on July 16, 1945. 2 more bombs were detonated on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which ended World War II.

Robert was tasked with perhaps one of the most difficult choices in the history of mankind. There was a possibility that when they push the button which detonates the bomb, things go wrong, and they end up killing everyone on the planet.

“This is the most important thing to ever happen in the history of the world,” says Matt Damon in a scene and we do agree with him. Grab your tickets for Oppenheimer releasing on July 21, 2023.
