Ufotables have revealed that Tanjiro’s journey toward getting a new katana is finally coming to an end. Demon Slayer’s producer, Ufotable has released details regarding the show’s finale on Twitter.
That’s right folks on coming Sunday, June 18 the series from the manga Kimetsu No Yaiba comes to an end, and instead of running around the usual 20 minutes, the episode will be a 70-minute finale and this surely has got the fans all excited and on the edge of their seats.
Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Swordsmith Village Arc
Kimetsu No Yaiba comprises a total of 11 arcs, and The Swordsmith Village Arc is the 9th. Multiple arcs have been adapted into the previous seasons as well.
The very first episode of this arc was an hour-long episode and so to see the finale follow suit, means there won’t be any less action towards the very end. The first part of the episode focused on Muzan and The Upper Moon Demons. Muzan is extremely disappointed as for the first time, an Upper Moon Demon (Upper Moon Demon 6: Gyutaro and Daki) has been killed.
Muzan assigns the 5th Upper Moon (Gyoko) and 4th Upper Moon (Hantengu) on a joint mission. The demons have apparently found some information about the Swordsmith Village and are on their way to destroy it.
Tanjiro is grievously injured from his battle with the Upper Moon Demon 6 who he kills with the help of Nezuko, Inosuke, Zeinitsu, and the sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. He also breaks his nichrin-sword (katana) during the battle and his swordsmith Haganezuka refuses to forge him a new sword as this isn’t the first time Tanjiro has broken his Katana.
Tanjiro goes to the Swordsmith Village to discuss with Haganezuka in person but learns that he is not at the village. He meets the village chief who assures him that he will definitely convince Haganezuka to build him a sword and to meanwhile rest at the hot springs of the village which have healing capabilities.
On the way to the springs, he meets the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and also encounters Genya, Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa’s little brother. He also meets the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito later.
What can we expect from Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc finale?

In Episode 9, Muichiro Tokito kills Upper the 5th Upper Moon Demon, Gyoko. Meanwhile, Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya are losing their battle with Zohakuten, the embodiment of Upper Demon 4 Hantengu. All of a sudden, the Love Hashira Misturi Kanroji shows up and saves the trio.
The 10th episode continues with Kanroji and Zohakuten engaging in battle with flashbacks to Kanroji’s childhood memories. The trio manages to locate the miniature body of Hantengu and Zohakuten cannot defend it as he is busy trying to get rid of the Love Hashira. Will Tanjiro finally be able to slay the demon’s head as that’s the only way to kill them?
