Blue Lock Season 1 Recap: A flashback of the epic journey!
*Spoilers ahead for Blue Lock*
Season 1 of Blue Lock left us on some big cliffhangers and we hope Season 2 picks up the pieces. In 2018, the Japanese national team finish 16th in the Fifa World Cup. The Japanese Football Association hires Ego Jinpachi to remaster the national team.
He creates Blue Lock, a training facility where young players, some of the best in Japan, go against each other to get a spot in Japan’s National Team. Each player must pass rounds, known as Selection to qualify, and those who fail are forced to leave Blue Lock and say goodbye to their dreams of ever representing the national team on the pitch.

The finale of Blue Lock Season 1 saw the protagonist Isagi Yoichi and his team (Rin Itoshi, Meguru Bachira, Aoshi Tokimitsu, and Jyuberi Aryu) make it past the second selection. Only 35 players remain out of the 300 who started their journey at Blue Lock.
Along with Isagi, his former teammates, Hyoma Chigiri, Shouei Barou, and Seshiro Nagi also make it into the third selection. Unfortunately, Kunigami, who became close to Isagi in the first selection did not make it.
It will be interesting to see how Isagi battles it out on the field with the remaining players. Like Isagi, they too have had their share of battles along the way and have finally made it into the third selection. With more matches to come along, fans can hope that Isagi turns out to be the striker Ego is looking forward to, but he has a long way to go.
