‘Baki Hanma Season 2‘ is the long-awaited sequel to ‘Baki’. The anime which is based on the martial arts manga ‘Baki the Grappler’ by Keisuke Itakagi will be available on Netflix. The series is based on 2 arcs from the manga and will be divided into 2 parts.
Part 1 is based on the ‘Pickle Arc’ while Part 2 focuses on ‘The Father vs. Son arc’. Baki Hanma Season 2 Part 1 will be available on July 26. 2023 while Part 2 comes out on August 24, 2023.
Season 1 ends with Baki Hanma defeating Biscuit Oliva, and he looks forward to challenging his father to a fight. However, a new obstacle comes between them, as Dr. Albert Payne brings to life, Pickle, a caveman who was preserved in Ice. Here’s a look at everyone who shall be fighting in this season of the anime.
Baki Hanma
Baki Hanma is the main protagonist of the show and his sole aim is to defeat his father and take on the title of ‘The Strongest Man in The World’. Baki uses a diverse range of fighting techniques such as karate, boxing, wrestling, and jujutsu.
Baki hates Yujirou because he killed his mother in front of him, in order to make him stronger.

Pickle
Pickle is a primitive man who was found preserved in the saline rock and brought back to life by Dr. Albert Payne. He is originally from the Jurrasic Park Era and is said to be stronger than Yujirou Hanma. In the trailer, Baki was seen fighting Pickle, possibly to defeat him first in order to establish that he is stronger than his Father.
Pickle relies on his primitive instincts but we will see him slowly adapt in the modern world.

Yujirou Hanma
The antagonist of the entire Baki franchise and possibly the strongest character (yet). Yujirou works as a mercenary for the government and other organizations. He is also referred to as ‘The Ogre’ (The Strongest Creature on Earth).
His entire mindset is to fight and kill. Yujirou kills his wife (Baki’s mother) with the sole aim of making his son stronger. He fuels the hatred Baki has for him in order for his son to surpass him as the strongest.

Kaiou Retsu
Intitally an antagonist in the show, Kaiou Retsu later progresses to become one of the main characters. He is an accomplished fighter who uses Chinese Kenpo. Though he is one of the toughest fighters, he took pity on Kaiou Dorian while holding back tears for the man.
He is one of the more uptight characters among Baki’s friends.

Dr. Albert Payne, Jack Hanma, and Katsumi Orochi will also feature in the second season of the anime.
