‘Ao Haru Ride Season 2’ is the highly anticipated sequel to one of the most popular animes. It’s been more than 8 years since the anime was released in 2014 and the fans have been begging for a sequel. The anime is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Io Sakisaka.
The series began serialization in February 2011 in the issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret. The first season of the show aired on 7th July 2014, and ran for 12 episodes, till 22nd September 2014. Studio Production I.G. was responsible for the animation. There has been no confirmation if there will be a Season 2 of the anime. With many older anime adaptations getting a fresh release with newer animation, we can expect the same.
A live-action television drama adaptation is set to premiere on September 11, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. (JST).

Futaba Yoshioka, a 16-year-old high school student, masks her femininity to fit in after being previously bullied by jealous female classmates. Reuniting with her first love, Kou Tanaka (now “Mabuchi”), she finds that he has changed. Determined to make things better for her, Futaba becomes class representative alongside Kou and friends Yuri, Shuko, and Aya.
On Christmas, Futaba decides to meet Kou at the same spot, which they had promised, years ago. However, Kou is involved in a minor accident on the way over. The two confess their love for each other.
