Well, a classic scene in any movie or series is two men fighting for a damsel, isn’t it? The Wither season 3 Vol-1 had a similar scene where at the Conclave ball two intelligent men are fighting over a mage and yes that Yennefer. We have seen Yennefer in season 1 had a great bond with Istredd even when she was disfigured. They had a pretty good bond but in greed for power, Istredd refused to be with Yennefer and later he regretted it.
Later Yennefer had a great time with Geralt and he reciprocated his feelings to her in Vol-2. At the Conclave ball, we saw Istredd getting a little jealous of him but it was the fair and square choice of Yennefer to choose Geralt. But then why was there a fight in epi-4 of The Witcher season 3? Let’s find out.
The Witcher Season 3: Why did Geralt and Istredd fight?
During the Conclave ball that the brotherhood organized to get allies from the north, Geralt and Yennefer enter the ball and catch everybody’s attention and especially Istredd. As they dance at the ball, Yennefer also gets a chance to dance with Istredd. This gives Geralt a little tension. But later in the past scenes, we see that Istredd, Triss, and Yennefer wanted to know that the students in Arentuza especially half-elven blood are going missing. He comes to know that a Book of Monoliths that has ancient elder language is stolen and Yennefer was sent into a passage that created the illusion that Geralt wanted to kill her.
To catch the culprit, Geralt and Istredd create a diversion and behave like they are fighting for Yennefer in the meantime Yennefer can search his room and it comes to be Stregobor who wanted to get rid of the elvians blood.
The Witcher Season 3: Does Istredd still love Yennefer?
Well to be honest it’s a yes and no, both. Istredd does still have feelings for Yennefer but it now looks like she has found love in Triss. She has known him for quite some time and both have the same agenda not to fight but to aid people’s needs. They looked good in Conclave ball.
