Secret Invasion‘ is one of Marvel’s latest television shows of the year and a first with Nick Fury in the lead role. Samuel L. Jackson plays the role of Nick Fury, former S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division) Director and he’s back to save everyone on Earth. 

The series follows Nick Fury and his war with the Skrulls, an extraterrestrial shape-shifting alien species who are hiding on Earth. Nick is solely responsible for this as years ago he and Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel promised the Skrulls they would find them a new home, provided they help them in exchange. 

Samuel L. Jackson stars alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Cobbie Smulders, Don Cheadle, and Killian Scott in Secret Invasion.

Secret Invasion: Episode 4 Recap

Episode 5 of Secret Invasion sent shockwaves among fans when it was revealed that Colonel James Rhodes was a Skrull.  President Ritson is in town to hold talks with the Russian Government over the attacks in Moscow, which point fingers toward Nick Fury’s involvement.

While en route, the presidential convoy is attacked by Gravik and his Skrull rebels. Nick Fury manages to save the president but Gravik ends up killing Fury’s closest Skrull companion Talos. The burning question on everyone’s minds was whether President Ritson is still alive or not after Episode 4 of Secret Invasion.

Secret Invasion Episode 5: What happened to President Ritson?

Nick Fury manages to save President Ritson and transports him to the nearest hospital. On route to the ICU, Fury warns Ritson of James Rhodes being a Skrull and not to trust him, but his warning falls onto the ears of the unconscious president. 

Back at the Skrull safehouse in Russia, Gravik is holding a meeting with the Skrulls. He reprimands them for failing to kill the president. Pagon, one of the Skrull soldiers questions Gravik’s leadership and is killed by him in front of the Skrulls. 

Meanwhile, Rhodey (Rhodes) who survived the attack is en route to the hospital. Gravik calls Rhodey and tells him to not kill the president, but instead make their outcomes favorable. It is revealed that Rhodey is Skrull Raava. Fury confronts Rhodey at the hospital who warns him that will be coming for Gravik.

Episode 5: Where is Gi’ah?

At the Skrull hideout in Russia, a coup occurs, and the Skrulls attack Gravik. Gravik who is now a Super-Skrull easily overpowers them and kills the traitors. Gi’ah meets up with Nick Fury and she asks for help to bury her father. Nick tells her to go meet Priscilla as plans to go to Finland to take care of something. 

Gi’ah meets Priscilla who helps her bury Talos. After the burial, the two bond well but are suddenly interrupted by Gravik’s men who have been sent to kill Priscilla. The duo successfully manages to kill the Skrulls. 

Nick Fury meets up with Sonya Falsworth in Finland. Sonya has been doing what she can as the head of SIS. Nick Fury tells Sonya that Gravik is looking for a vial, which contains the blood of every Avenger, and that he made a deal with Fury to end the war on humans in exchange for the vial.

Episode 6: What to Expect in the Finale?

Samuel L. Jackson at the end of episode 5 is seen putting his old jacket and eye patch back on. Could this be a sign that he is back as the ‘Nick Fury’ who led the Avengers and saved the planet multiple times in the finale of Secret Invasion? Also, we wonder who is the mysterious person that Nick Fury calls toward the end. The finale of Secret Invasion will be released on 26th July 2023 on Disney+.
