Did Poldark Season 6 Finally Get Renewed?

If you loved Poldark, you might be disappointed by this news.

Aidan Turner, the actor who brought to life the 18th-century Cornish hero created by Winston Graham, said he has no intention of reprising his role as Ross Vennor Poldark, even though he left his wife Demelza Poldark (Eleanor Tomlinson) with a promise to come back at the end of season 5.

The TV series did not cover all of Graham’s novels, so there is still more story to tell. But, when Radio Times magazine asked him if there was any chance of more Poldark, he answered with a firm “no”.

However, he suggested that he consider playing an older version of Ross in the future.

“There are some books… I need to check what books they are. I think Ross is quite a bit older,” he said. “I think Jeremy, Ross’s son, he’s 16 or 18 or something. And I think when we left Ross, I think Jeremy might only be 10. I’m not quite sure.”

The actor has not been idle, though. He has been working on other projects, such as ITV’s crime drama The Suspect. Based on a novel by Michael Robotham, it shows Turner in a contemporary setting – but his character, Joe O’Loughlin, a clinical psychologist, has his own problems, as he might be a killer.
