Mash Burnedead in episode 10 of ‘Mashle: Magic and Muscles’, revealed that Domain Expansion isn’t so complicated after all. Any character from any anime won’t be a huge fan of being inside a Domain Expansion, as it’s equivalent to playing Football on the Opposition’s home ground, they have the advantage…… but maybe not so.
‘Mashle’is a magical world in which an individual’s position is determined by his skill in magic. In episode 10, the protagonist of the show, Mash Burnedead finds himself trapped in the feared curse technique, Domain Expansion by Abyss Razor.
Mash whose powers are now limited as he is in the domain, focuses his attack on the base of the domain, the ground. He hits down hard which creates a shockwave and nulls the domain. Unable to attack from all directions, Abyss can only attack in the direction Mash is, which practically makes the Domain Expansion useless.
What is Domain Expansion?
Domain Expansion is a powerful technique in Jujutsu Kaisen that allows sorcerers to create their unique domains or barriers to gain a tactical advantage over their opponents.
A Domain Expansion is a pocket dimension created by a Sorcerer. To put it in more simple terms, imagine you are the sorcerer, and your domain expansion would be your own room. Domain expansion reflects the sorcerer’s personality, abilities, and techniques.
When a Domain Expansion is activated, a visual transformation occurs in the surrounding area and the landscape inside, again, depends on the sorcerer. Inside the domain, the sorcerer controls the rules that govern the domain such as time, space, gravity, etc.
Domain Expansions offer an advantage to the users, as they can create environments that are suitable to their strengths while also affecting the enemies. However, Domains are not necessarily perfect, as skilled opponents can find a workaround.
Who is Mash Burnedead?
Mash Burnedead has now entered the ‘Hall of Fame’ for characters that have managed to break free from a Domain Expansion. Mash Burnedead is the main protagonist of Mashle and a first-year student at Easton Magic Academy in ‘Mashle: Magic and Muscles’
He aims at living a peaceful life with his step-father, Regro but he must become a Divine Visionary first. Without any talent in magic, Mash makes the best of his physical abilities to prove that magic techniques are vulnerable after all.
If there is ever a crossover between the two animes (Unlikely), it would be an absolute treat to see whether Mash would survive Gojo Satarou’s Domain Expansion – Unlimited Void. Anime fans surely would give everything to watch two of the strongest characters in the world of anime go against each other.
