The second season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge is finally here! It will air on April 4, 2023. The official website revealed the news on November 25, 2022. The sweet revenge of Masamune will continue in France!
This will be the final season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge, as the manga has already ended. The series has faced a lot of criticism for being full of romcom clichés and having a shallow premise. But the anime has proven its worth and got a second season. What will happen in the second season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge?
Masamune-kun Revenge Season 2 Release Date
It took a long time for the second season to be confirmed. The anime first aired in January 2017. Then, in April 2022, the second season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge was announced.
There was a hint about the second-season decision. The official Twitter account announced a rebroadcast program for the first season in January 2022. The last episode was aired as an OVA on March 30, 2022.
Then, on April fool’s day, they surprised everyone with the second season announcement. After four posts on the same day, SILVER LINK. and Funimation officially announced the second season in the evening. They also released a commemorative PV that showed scenes from the first season.
Finally, the second season’s release date and the PV were announced on November 25, 2022. Masamune-kun’s Revenge will air on April 4, 2023.
Masamune-kun no Revenge R Trailer
Masamune-kun’s Revenge is back with a new season set in France. The trailer reveals the new characters and challenges that await Masamune and his friends. The official website also introduces two new cast members who will play important roles in the story.
The same staff will produce the anime as the first season. Mirai Minato is the director, Michiko Yokote is the scriptwriter, and Toshiki Kameyama is the sound director. SILVER LINK studios will continue to animate the series.

Ayaka Ohashi will also sing the opening theme song, titled “Please, please!“. The ending theme song has not been announced yet.
Masamune-kun Revenge Synopsis
Masamune Makabe was a chubby kid who was rejected by his first love. Heartbroken, he decided to train with his grandparents in the mountains. Driven by revenge, he grew up to be a handsome and popular boy.
Now, his only goal is to make his first love, Aki Adagaki, fall for him and then dump her. Perfect plan. However, he soon discovers that his childhood nickname, piggy, is still known by someone.
Aki’s maid, Yoshino Koiwai, sends him a letter with his nickname on it. Fearing that his years of planning are ruined, he prepares to give up, but it turns out that Yoshino wants to help him get back at Aki.

Masamune-kun’s Revenge is an anime adaptation of the manga with the same title, written by Hazuki Takeoka and drawn by Tiv.
The manga ran in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine from October 2012 to June 2018. It was collected into ten volumes with extra stories called “Masamune-kun’s Revenge After School”.
The manga was licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment on September 4, 2015. The final volume of the English version of Masamune-kun’s Revenge came out on June 16, 2020.
The anime covers the first six volumes of the manga or 30 chapters of the whole series. It leaves about four original manga volumes, 19 chapters, to be animated.
It would be nice if the studio decides to animate the additional stories. But the ending would lose its impact from that. So, there is a possibility that this anime has only 10 or 11 episodes. It may seem short compared to other anime, but it is the best option to preserve the fans’ satisfaction.
