Kakushigoto Season 2: Will it ever be released?

Don't miss

Will Kakushigoto Season 2 ever be released? Is it beyond our grasp?

Currently, one of the anime subgenres that is most popular is slice-of-life. Following this genre, though, is rather hit or miss. Due to its wholesomeness, people might either absolutely adore the show or abhor it because it’s boring. One program that fits into the first category is called Kakushigito, and it recently debuted to show everyone that slice-of-life programming can be fantastic to watch.

Kakushigoto began life as a Japanese manga series originally created and illustrated by Koji Kumeta. Since December 4, 2015, it has been published as a serial in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine. It ran for twelve volumes before coming to an end on July 6, 2020. From March 17, 2020, to February 9, 2021, Kodansha Comics USA also released the manga series digitally in English.

On November 15, 2019, the tenth volume of the manga series saw the first announcement of an anime adaptation. Ajia-Do, the company most known for its anime productions like How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Kemono Jihen, and Ascendance of a Bookworm, animated the translation.

On April 2, 2020, the anime series made its debut. It ran for twelve episodes before coming to an end on June 18 of that same year. Many fans are eager to see a sequel after the first season concludes. What is the Kakushigoto Season 2 renewal status then?

Indeed, the studio has been clear from the beginning that the first season will tell the whole tale of the manga series. There won’t be any more fresh seasons of the show because it ended perfectly, just like in the manga. The conclusion is therefore that Kakushigoto Season 2 won’t air again.

Yet, the studio has omitted a significant number of chapters that are filled with details from daily life. Although they are not required reading, you should really think about reading the manga as well if you enjoy the plot.

As was previously stated, Kakushigoto Season 2 would be impossible given that the studio only intended to adapt the whole manga into television in one season.

Fortunately, it was revealed on December 12, 2020, that a theatrical compilation film would be made for the anime series. The film basically acts as an expanded version of the television show. Furthermore, it presents alternative viewpoints not found in the television show.

Since Funimation has been streaming the series, fans can already watch the movie, which debuted on July 9, 2021. It’s not required to watch the movie, but if you want to witness more of its actions, there are a few brand-new scenes near the conclusion that are kind of moving and definitely worth watching. These scenes last for around 3 minutes in total.

Kakushigoto Action

Popular manga creator Kakushi Gotou is noted for the inappropriate content in his works. Due to this raunchiness, he made a promise to keep his career a secret from his daughter Hime when she was born since he thought she would be disappointed if she learned about it.

Kakushi gets into stressful circumstances as a result of this paranoia-induced belief. Despite being a single parent, he tries his best to keep his secret safe and frequently goes to extraordinary lengths to do so, such as dressing as a salaryman every day or preparing emergency drills in case Hime somehow manages to get to his place of employment.

A father and daughter are depicted in Kakushigoto as preserving their peaceful coexistence as the father tries to uphold the status quo. There is a proverb that states, “Time can unveil any secret.” Hime will eventually have to discover the truth about the things she grew up taking for granted.
