In early June 2019, we reported that the “Sound! Euphonium” anime franchise will get a sequel focusing on Kumiko Oumae’s final year at school. Now there are new details about it and another anime project for the franchise is in the works.
Sound! Euphonium Season 3 Release Date
Accordingly, the previously announced project is a TV series, which is not scheduled to start until 2024.
However, fans of the franchise don’t have to wait that long for the first new anime fodder. As announced, there is also an anime project in the works that focuses on the “Ensemble Contest” arc. It should be a special or film project with cinema exploitation and subsequent release for home cinema. A release is planned for 2023.
The first season of “Sound! Euphonium” celebrated its Japanese TV premiere in April 2015. The second season then started in October of the next year. The franchise also includes an OVA, two compilation films, and the film sequels Liz and the Blue Bird and Oath’s Finale.

Sounds! Euphonium tells the story of the Kitauji High School Music Club. After a change of teachers, the once respected club has fallen sharply, but a new teacher is supposed to get things going again. Kumiko Oumae and her classmates Hazuki and Sapphire, who are all new to the school, pay a visit to the brass band. Kumiko decides to join the club and play the euphonium until she sees Reina, her middle school classmate. When she remembers an incident from back then, she hesitates.
