Hikari no Ou Anime Storyline
The novels are set in the chaotic afterworld of humanity’s last war. Forests full of beasts cover the earth and only a few people live in small protected communities. Due to a special weapon used in the last war, humans suddenly burst into flames whenever they are even near a small fire source. Therefore, the only safe source of energy for humans is the bodies of the Flameling. Beings that are hunted by the sickle-wielding fire catchers in the depths of the great forest. Among those Fire Catchers, there is a legend about the so-called “Fire Catcher Lord” – a Fire Catcher who would be able to harvest the fire of the 1000-year-old comet, the “Wandering Spark.” A comet that flies in the sky and returns to Earth after being transported there in the last great war.
The story of the books begins when Touko, a young girl from the village of Paper Makers, finds herself in the forbidden forest, attacked by Flamelings and protected by a Fire Catcher. Elsewhere, Koshi, a boy born in the capital, takes care of his little sister after her mother dies of poisons from the factory.
