High Card is a poker-themed anime series that premiered in January 2023 and quickly became a hit among fans of action, fantasy, and superpowers. The anime is based on a multimedia project created by Homura Kawamoto, Hikaru Muno, and TMS Entertainment, which also includes a manga, a novel, and drama CDs. The story follows Finn, a young thief who joins a secret group of agents called High Card, who are tasked by the king of Fourland to recover 52 X-Playing cards that grant different abilities to their users. Along the way, they face various enemies, such as the rival car company Who’s Who and the mafia family Klondike, who also want the cards for their own purposes.
The first season of High Card consisted of 12 episodes and ended in March 2023 with a cliffhanger that left many viewers eager for more. Here is everything we know so far about High Card Season 2.

High Card Season 2 Plot
The plot of High Card Season 2 will likely continue from where the first season left off, with Finn and his teammates facing new challenges and enemies in their quest to collect all the X-Playing cards. The second season will also explore more of the backstory and motivations of the main characters, as well as introduce new ones.
One of the major plot points that will be addressed in High Card Season 2 is the identity and role of Finn’s buddy, which is a mysterious entity that resides within him and grants him access to his card’s power. In the first season finale, Finn’s buddy briefly manifested itself as a black-winged angel that helped him defeat Klondike’s boss. However, Finn still does not know much about his buddy or why it chose him.
Another plot point that will be explored in High Card Season 2 is the origin and purpose of the X-Playing cards themselves. In the first season, it was revealed that the cards were created by an ancient civilization that used them to fight against an evil force called “the Void”. However, the cards were lost after a cataclysmic event that destroyed most of the civilization. The king of Fourland managed to recover them and entrusted them to his royal family, but they were stolen and scattered by an unknown assailant one month before the start of the story.
