Elliot Page is starring in the new upcoming drama from the BAFTA-winning director. Dominic Savage’s new movie is about drama, love, and family and will see Elliot Page play the role of Sam in ‘Close To You’
The British director who has previously worked on projects such as ‘I Am’ (2019) and ‘The Escape’ (2017) called the movie a “very poignant, personal, and important story” via Variety,
“It has been a remarkable experience to collaborate with Elliot Page on this very special and unique film about love, identity, and family,” he said. “I’m so proud of what we have achieved with the film.”
Elliot who will be working with the director for the first time told Variety in a statement that he enjoyed working in the movie.
“I’m proud to have worked with Dominic and Hillary on this beautiful film,” Page said in a statement. “It’s been a pleasure collaborating with them and the incredibly talented cast and crew. I look forward to sharing it with audiences soon.”
The story follows Sam who runs into an old friend (Baack) on his way home to a family reunion that he is reluctant to attend. Apart from that, not many specifics have been disclosed regarding the film.
The filming which took place in Canada was wrapped by June 2023. Me+You Productions along with Good Question Media were responsible for the movie, alongside producers Krishnendu Majumdar and Richard Yee.
Born on February 21st, 1987, the Canadian Actor is well known for their breakout role in the critically acclaimed film ‘Juno’ (2007) which went on to receive an Academy Award Nomination.
Elliot has showcased their acting skills in notable films such as ‘Hard Candy’ (2005), Inception (2010), and the X-Men franchise where they played the role of Kitty Pryde.
In December 2020, Page publicly came out as transgender and announced their new name, Elliot Page. Page has been a strong advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has been using multiple platforms to bring awareness and attention to the same.
Currently, Elliot Page plays the role of Viktor Hargreeves in the ongoing Netflix show, The Umbrella Academy
The British Director began his career in 1962 as an actor before transitioning to directing. Some of his notable works include ‘Nice Girl’ (2009) and ‘When I Was 12’ (2001) for which he won BAFTAs.
