Only Kevin Feige knows the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s actors and actresses, including whether Elizabeth Olsen will return to playing Wanda Maximoff or leave. On various occasions, Elizabeth Olsen has often been asked about the possibility that the character will return to the screen.
In an interview with TODAY, the woman who is familiarly called Liz admitted that she did not have any contract with Marvel Studios regarding her latest project in the MCU. So that she can ensure that for now, she will not return to playing Wanda in any variant.
For a time, Elizabeth Olsen felt the need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Marvel universe. This is what she needs as an actress to deepen the different characters in her acting catalog. So the holiday playing Wanda is a relief for Liz at this time.
“No, I don’t miss (playing the character),” Elizabeth Olsen commented when interviewed by Variety.
“I’ve worked for Marvel two years in a row (WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) so I think this short break is good for me. I need to build up other characters to play and that’s important to me. That’s why I’m so grateful to have the Love project & Death because the offer came after playing Wanda for two years straight, then continuing to talk about the role (with the media) for a full year, so it’s nice to have another focus to talk about.”
Elizabeth Olsen made her final appearance as Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. There the character changes to Scarlet Witch and opens up the possibility of the appearance of the same character from a different universe. Previously she also closed the sad story of Wanda and Vision in the WandaVision series on Disney+.

On the other hand, Olsen has no idea when she will return to the MCU as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. The character was last seen in the “Doctor Strange” sequel being crushed under a collapsing building after she sacrificed herself to destroy the Darkhold, the evil book of sorcery that had corrupted her and turned her into a villain.
“We can do anything with her now!” Olsen recently told ScreenRant about Scarlet Witch’s next appearance. “I feel like we’ve done so much. Now, we can really have fun; I feel like there’s a lot more humor to be had with her. She’s often the emotion of a story, and I’m curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully [we can] give her some redemption.”
In a previous interview, Elizabeth Olsen explained that Marvel Studios had not contacted her at all to continue the story. She also realized that what she said could be considered a lie or cheat by fans (because everyone knows how Marvel Studios keeps everything secret), this time Liz really tries to be honest.
“This is a difficult question for me to answer because I feel like my words are always off the mark every time I answer that question. So my answer is probably ‘yes, I hope there will be a continuation of the story from Scarlet Witch. But I really don’t know anything (about the future) character) when he said this. Not that I have much to spare for answers. I really, really hope,'” said Elizabeth Olsen.
“Haven’t started shooting at all, haven’t even read the script regarding Scarlet Witch, not even a contract!” he insisted.
