Will Drifters Season 2 ever air? When will we be able to see it?
One of the many medieval animes with some fantasy components is Drifters. It belongs to the genres of action, adventure, and. Also, the show has humorous elements that will undoubtedly amuse the audience.
As a medieval-themed anime, Drifters focuses mostly on historical and, intriguingly, samurai themes. Thus, Drifters should be your cup of tea if the word “samurai” has a special meaning to you.
Drifters began life as a Japanese manga created and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. Since April 30, 2009, it has been published in Young King Ours, a seinen manga magazine published by Shnen Gahosha.
The manga series has also been released in a variety of languages, including English since August 24, 2011, Brazilian Portuguese since June 2014, Spanish since April 14, 2011, and Polish since June 2016, all of which were published by various publishers.
Drifters Season 2 Renewal Status
Initially, the final volume of the Hellsing Ultimate video series in December 2012 included a 150-second anime short. Subsequently, it was revealed that the anime adaptation was in development in the May 2015 issue of Young King Ours.
The studio best renowned for its anime productions, including The Qwaser of Stigmata, 3D Kanojo, and Mysterious Girlfriend X, animated the adaptation under the name Hoods Entertainment as Hoods Drifters Studio.
The anime adaptation of Drifters debuted on October 7, 2016, ran for twelve episodes, and ended on December 23, 2016. Three ova episodes that serve as a sequel came after it. On December 23, 2017, the first two ova episodes were simultaneously released, while the last episode followed on November 30, 2018.
Many fans are clamoring for a sequel to watch the continuation of it after the release of the third ova episode. What is the current status of Drifters Season 2’s renewal? When will the sequel be released to the fans?
As of right present, neither the author nor the production company has commented on Drifters Season 2. We don’t know if Drifters will be renewed for another season, but thankfully it hasn’t been canceled either, so there’s still a chance it will.
Drifters Season 2: Will it be feasible?
Thankfully, a second season of Drifters would probably be achievable. The manga series is still active at the moment, which is the main justification. There are presently 85 chapters in the manga, but only 71 have been collected into the six tankobon volumes.
Most adaptations are made to promote the original material, and if the original is still selling copies today, it would probably be possible to produce a second season given the amount of money that both the author and the studio stand to make.
Not to mention that a lot of viewers like the anime series Drifters. It has amassed about 530k users on the network and has a solid score of 7.90 on MyAnimeList.
Not to mention, the studio has already made hints about the anime series’ potential return. The third ova episode of the anime series ends with the announcement that there will be a fourth episode. Nevertheless, as of right now, nothing is known about it. We can only hope right now.
The source material is currently insufficient for the anime series to continue, which is the most likely explanation for why it hasn’t been renewed yet. The first 45 chapters have already been adapted for the first season, and numerous additional chapters were adapted for the ova episodes. We would have to wait a bit to see a sequel because there are only about 85 chapters left in the current manga series.
