Demon Slayer Season 4 has got fans of the anime excited. Demon Slayer – ‘To the Swordsmith Village arc’ has ended, with yet another Upper Moon Demon (Hantengu) dead, and now it’s only Muzan and 3 other Upper Moon Demons (Kokushibo, Doma, and Akaza) left. Ufotable announced the upcoming season 4 – ‘Hashira Training Arc’, right after the end of Season 3.
Tanjiro Kamado has 2 Upper Moon Demon kills to his name. Many Hashiras are yet to fight an Upper Moon Demon and the show’s protagonist has already killed Hantengu and Gyuatoro&Daki. It is only fair that he now begins his journey to become a Hashira, Humanity’s last hope against Muzan and his demons.
The anime is based on the manga, ‘Kimetsu No Yaiba’ (Blade of Demon Destruction) by Koyoharu Gotouge. Ufotable is the studio behind the animation and it follows Tanjiro Kamado and his journey to defeat all demons and turn his sister, Nezuko, back into a human.
Demon Slayer Season 4: Release Date
No official release date has been released as of yet for the anime. Ufotable released the first and third seasons of the anime in April, whereas the second season was released in October.
With Demon Slayer – ‘To the Swordsmith Village arc’ recently ending, we don’t expect the anime to be released anytime soon. The anime is likely to be released either released in April 2024 or October 2024, if Ufotable follow their previous schedule.
We would not be surprised if the anime is pushed back as far as 2025.
Demon Slayer Season 4: Plot
The teaser for ‘Hashira Training Arc’ revealed the final 8 Hashiras, so Tanjiro likely is to train with most of them in the new season. Sound Hashira – Tengen Uzi, Mist Hashira- Muichiro Tokito, and Love Hashira- Mitsuri Kanroji have already starred in the previous seasons of the show, so chances of them taking the limelight are minimal.
The anime will be adapted from the ‘Hashira Training Arc’ in the manga. We could see Tanjiro train with the strongest Hashira, Stone Hashira – Gyomei Himejima. It is unclear whether Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, who recruited Tanjiro to join the Demon Slayer Corps will return.
Tanjiro could also face off with the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, who is the elder brother of Genya Shinazugawa. He had previously stabbed Nezuko and then slashed his arm to bait Nezuko into attacking him, as he believed that Nezuko, being a demon, will attack humans, but she does not.
Demon Slayer Season 3: Recap
Season 3 of Demon Slayer continues from Kimestu No Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc where Tanjiro is grievously injured from his battle with Upper Moon Demon 6: Gyuataro and Daki. During the battle, he breaks his nichrin-sword (katana) and decides to embark on a journey to the swordsmith village to ask his swordsmith Haganezuka to forge a new one. During his time at the village, he runs into more trouble from Muzan and his demons.
In the finale, Tanjiro kills another Upper Moon Demon, Hantengu. A turning point in the anime is that Nezuko, who is a demon, is immune to sunlight. However, it is not a happy ending as Muzan sets his sights on Nezuko, as consuming her would make him immune to sunlight and then complete his immortal form.
Demon Slayer Season 4: Cast
