Avatar 3 will be directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. James Cameron’s Avatar movies are some of the highest-grossing movies of all time. The first movie was released in 2009 and it wrote its name in the history books as the highest-grossing film of all time ($2.3 billion+). ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ which was released in 2022, went on to become the third highest-grossing movie of all time.
James Cameron’s Avatar 3 has been subject to multiple delays over the years. James stated in 2006 that he would be making sequels to the franchise if the first movie was a success. Safe to say ‘Avatar 3’ won’t be the final film from the franchise.
Avatar 3: Release Date
The film’s theatrical release has been subject to 9 delays, but Avatar 3 is currently scheduled to release on December 19, 2025.
20th Century Studios, the studio behind Avatar, also announced that Avatar 4 will be released on December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 to release on December 19, 2031. Part 4 and Part 5 are said to be in various stages of development at the moment.
