‘Oppenheimer‘ is Christopher Nolan’s best movie yet. The movie surpassed all expectations and made over $82 million on the opening weekend. Christopher Nolan who is known for the use of ‘practical effects’ in his movies, recently had a scene from the movie censored with the help of CGI.
This comes as a massive blow in the face of Christopher Nolan who is known for the authenticity of his movies. The scene in which Florence Pugh’s Jean Tatlock sits naked on a chair in a hotel room is censored with CGI, which is used to cover her body with a black dress.
Apart from the United States, this scene was censored in several countries. Including India and the Middle East. The movie was edited to pass with a U/A certificate as per India’s film certification standards.

R-Rated Oppenheimer
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is based on the life of the physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer who helped the United States develop the world’s first atomic bomb. Cillian Murphy does a fantastic job of playing the lead role. Alongside Cillian, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and Florence Pugh are some honorable mentions who are commended for their respective roles.
It’s more than just a biopic, the narrative, the plot, the cinematography, everything goes hand in hand. Oppenheimer is the first movie that was shot in IMAX 65 MM and 65 MM Large Format Black and White Film. Instead of color grading the movie, Christopher Nolan shot the movie on black and white film.
Nolan fans are disappointed as the director who is known for not using CGI in his movies becomes subject to one. As per Variety, the scenes were edited to secure a confirmed release in many countries.

More Controversy
Another scene from the movie became a trending topic in India. In one scene from the movie, Oppenheimer is quoting a text from the Hindu Scripture, ‘Bhagavad Dita’, which is “I have become Death, Destroyer of Worlds” while having sex with Jean Tatlock.
This however does not let down the popularity of the movie, as Nolan’s Oppenheimer has made over 40 crore in the opening week in India. There were shows as early as 3:30 am in some parts of the country. Oppenheimer is more popular than Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ which has made around 20 crore in the opening week.
