Why does Naruto have whiskers

Don't miss

Naruto: The fact that so many elements of anime are genre-specific makes it an intriguing art form. When a character is comically surprised by something, giant tear droplets will appear over their heads and fall to the ground. There are several overly dramatic speeches, and cat people seem to be the subject of some strange preoccupation.

In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, is it appropriate for Naruto’s son to have facial whiskers? Naruto Uzumaki is one of the most well-known protagonists in anime, and a lot of his character design has become recognizable. The future Seventh Hokage could easily be identified by his bright orange jacket, Hidden Leaf ninja headband, and Uzumaki swirl crest.

How Do the Whiskers on Naruto’s face look like?

Along with his facial whiskers, which have three marks across each cheek from the day of his birth, Naruto is well recognized for them. Although the word “whiskers” is frequently used to refer to them, it should be noted that the lines on Naruto’s face are marks rather than actual hairs.

According to CBR.com, The terrifying creature imprisoned inside Naruto’s body, the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama, is responsible for the whisker marks on Naruto. Like his jinchriki, Kurama has three whiskers on either cheek. Oddly enough, Naruto’s son was born with the same stripes on his face. Boruto Uzumaki has two lines instead of the usual three on each cheek, despite never having had a tailed beast live inside of him.

Himawari, the daughter of Naruto and Hinata, also possesses the double-whisker feature like her older brother. At first glance, Boruto’s whiskers can seem strange, almost as if Masashi Kishimoto wanted his new protagonist to resemble Naruto as much as possible. In truth, the genesis of Boruto Uzumaki’s whisker marks is similar to that of Naruto. Therefore, they make perfect sense.

The Real Reason Behind the Whiskers on Naruto’s face

Many people believe that the anime character Naruto’s whiskers appear because he is Kurama’s vessel, but in reality, the marks were there before Konoha imprisoned the Nine-Tailed Fox in his baby body. The truth is that Kushina, who was Kurama’s jinchriki before to Naruto, is the reason why infant Naruto was born with whisker marks. The Nine-Tailed Fox was inside Kushina’s body when Naruto was conceived, and he spent the following nine months growing close to Kurama’s chakra. Naruto would have had the same whiskers even if he had never inherited the monster.

Additionally, it explains why Boruto and Himawari share identical birthmarks. Both of Kurama’s children were born while Kurama was living inside Naruto, which must have been uncomfortable for everyone. The Nine-Tails chakra was active during the developmental stage, just like it was for Naruto himself, giving Boruto and Himawari their father’s distinctive whisker marks. Unfortunately, the feature is simply aesthetic, which is bad for the kids. The Nine-Tails chakra is not possessed by Boruto or Himawari, just as Naruto’s whiskers did not endow him with any special powers.
