The Witcher season 3 vol-2 is coming this July 27. The series will have an epic battle between magic and magic. Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer are tested with their wits and caliber. The series is about to enter a new story but first thing first- waging a war for the sake of safe and peace of Ciri. Ciri has to make her own choice and has to take the right path. Will she choose to become a destruction or will she choose the Witcher‘s way? Only time will tell.
What is the animated origin film of ‘The Witcher’?
Witcher fans did you know that there was a prequel to The Witcher series? No, I’m not talking about Blood Origins but an animated series that gave us the beginning of The Witcher clan and the head of the Witcher community, Vesemir. The movie’s name is The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
The story is about the younger days of Vesemir and how he accepted the fortune and took training as the Witcher. Vesemir remembers his youth when he was a servant to a nobleman, along with his best friend Illyana, whose lover was saved from a mahr with Vesemir’s help by a warlock named Deglan. Lured by promises of coins and riches, Vesemir traveled to Kaer Morhen and underwent training and mutations to become a warlock.
The Witcher: Nightmare of Wolf
In the present day, Vesemir and Luka are already on a mission when Lady Zerbst persuades the king to send Vesemir along with Tetra to liberate the Kitsu Forest. She hands over the mission to Vesemir, who recognizes her as Illyana, who is now 70 years old. Vesemir and Tetra set off and she tells him the story of a young sorceress who was killed by a Witcher mistakenly and later whole Witcher community was on radar to be vanquished. They find Kitsu, who has mutated and is now able to create powerful illusions. They kill the monster but Kitsu escapes.
Kitsu attempted to replicate the experiments performed on her, and they concluded that witchers were to blame, creating new monsters to keep their business going. Vesemir assumes that the monsters he encountered were probably created in Kaer Morhen and sets out to confront Deglan. As he leaves, Tetra destroys Kitsu’s lair. He later sees Kitsu watching the destruction and blames it on the warlocks. Back at court, he also tells the king of the warlocks’ responsibility for the recent monster attacks and gains approval to besiege Kaer Morhen.
Illyana helps witch recruits escape to the mountains. Vesemir confronts Tetra, who has captured the wizards and is holding them hostage in the basement. Kitsu arrives and puts Vesemir in an illusion where he marries Illyana and starts a family. Vesemir manages to break out of the illusion and engage in a fierce battle with Tetra and her forces but Illyana is injured.
At Illyana’s urging, Vesemir lets Kitsu flee and carries the dying Illyana out of the burning castle. Vesemir takes Illyana to a lake where she always wanted to live. The two share a brief moment before she dies peacefully. He then sets out and catches up with the recruits, including young Geralt, and takes them under his wing as the last group of warlocks.
