Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible series is one of the few franchises to have such longevity. Fans have loved Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, and with each new film, the stunts kept getting better and better.
The series is based on the television series created by Bruce Geller and follows Ethan Hunt, an agent of the IMF (Impossible Mission Force). The first movie was released in 1996, and currently, a 7th installment of the movie, titled ‘Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1’ is all set to release on July 12, 2023.
Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt one last time. The finale is divided into two parts so it will be interesting to see how Ethan and his team manage to execute their mission one last time. Here’s a look at all of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible movies ranked-
1. Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018)
‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ is considered to be one of the best movies in which Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt. The movie perfectly utilizes the 2.5-hour runtime with high-quality action. Henry Cavill also stars in the movie. Fans are expecting ‘Dead Reckoning Part 1’ to be better than the prequel.

2. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011)
When anyone mentions ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’, the Burj Khalifa Stunt scene comes to mind. The fourth movie in the franchise elevated how far Ethan Hunt and his team could go to execute the mission. The movie has scenes from the Kremlin, Dubai, as well as Mumbai with each place offering high-octane stunts to the viewers.

3. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015)
‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ sees Ethan Hunt and his crew go against the Syndicate. With the IMF being disbanded by the government, Ethan and his crew go undercover to dismantle the Syndicate’s operations. The movie ranks second as it’s slightly behind ‘Ghost Protocol’ in the memorable stunt scenes.

4. Mission: Impossible III (2006)
The third installment of the movie saw Ethan Hunt retire from his fieldwork and train new agents but is called back into action when his protege is captured by an arms dealer. The movie had adequate stunt scenes to the storyline but didn’t come close to the other movies released after 2010.

5. Mission: Impossible (1996) Tom Cruise’s First M.I movie
The first movie from the franchise was not the best, but it made a good impression on the audience. Fans loved Tom Cruise’s new Ethan Hunt and they wanted more of the spy film series. The movie follows Ethan Hunt being framed by a mole in the CIA and him having to prove his innocence. The first movie was directed by Brian De Palma.

6. Mission: Impossible II (2000)
The sequel to the first movie did not match the hype of the original. Fans were left wanting more, but that does not mean the movie was a flop. Mission: Impossible II could be considered one of the weakest movies in the franchise.

With 6 movies to the franchise, fans are hoping the final 2 movies will be able to live up to the hype of the Mission Impossible Franchise. Stay tuned to know more about Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.
