In the new trailer, Timothy Olyphant returns to his iconic role as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Justified: City Primeval is an upcoming crime drama and continues the storyline of Justified. The series is based on the Elmore Leonard novel ‘City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit’. The show is set to air on July 18 on FX.
The series is developed by Dave Andron and Michael Dinner. Justified: City Prevail will see Marshal Rayland Givens in a new city with new cases to solve. Along with Timothy Olyphant in the main role, Anjanue Elis, Boyd Holbrook, Adelaide Clemens, and Timothy’s daughter Vivian Olyphant will also be starring in the show.
The show also stars Vondie Curtis Hall, Marin Ireland, Norbert Leo Butz, Victor Williams, and Ravi Patel.
Justified: City Primeval
The show continues 15 years after the events of the original series. Raylan Givens moves back to Miami where he continues working as U.S. Marshal but soon finds himself in Detroit, pursuing The Oklahoma Wildman, Clement Mansell (Boyd Holbrook).
Raylan will find himself going against Clement and his lawyer and also tackle good parenting to his teenage daughter. 15 years later, Raylan still hasn’t lost his character, and even though the hairs on his head have all turned grey, his spirit to fight the bad guys has not aged a single day.
The Original Series
‘Justified’ aired from 2005 to 2015 and was created by Graham Yost. Set in the lawless region of Harlan County, Kentucky, the show is centered around Raylan Givens and his crime-fighting endeavors.
In the show, Raylan was stationed in Miami, but following an incident, he was reassigned to his hometown. He clashes heads with his childhood friend and the antagonist of the show, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).
The show went on for 6 seasons for which it received praise for its writing, performances by the actors, and the unique blend of genres. It earned numerous awards and nominations, including Primetime Emmy Awards and Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

Anytime fans see a police officer in a cowboy hat, only one name comes to mind, Raylan Givens. He embodies the Western Hero and is known for his no-nonsense approach when it comes to enforcing the law.
Often during the show, Raylan crosses the line of morality in Harlan and goes on a journey of self-discovery while also trying to maintain a sense of justice. It will be interesting to see where he stands after 15 years and how he manages to take on new challenges.
