The Netflix original Survival Of The Thickest is bringing you a light heart comedy that defines the obscurities of an overweight woman who is targeted for being an unattractive woman, had a break-up and now has to get hold of her career as a stylist. The series is set to come in July and is a light-hearted drama about this over-enthusiastic girl.
Survival of the Thickest on Netflix– Plot
In the series Survival of the Thickest, Mavis Beaumont is happy in her world and has an amazing job as a secondary stylist for a photoshoot. She has an amazing boyfriend Jacque who is a fashion photographer and loves her like anything. She has a beautiful house and one day in that house, she finds Jacque with one of the models. She acts like a hungry hyena and pounces at her and her cheater boyfriend. She leaves the house and is taken as a tenant by a weird girl named Jade who covers herself in olive oil.
Her friends Khalil and Marley are Mavis’s best buddies and help her get through this breakup syndrome. Khalil helps her to start taking her career and life back on track and become what she always wanted a designer. After much emphasis, Mavis gets her first designer project for a 90s model and she can’t resist the fact that she has gained weight and become a lost name in the industry. After giving her the task, Mavis ends up running to Jacque and he begs her to come back.
Mavis tries to help a drag queen on her day and gives her the dress that he asked for. As she performs on the stage, the dress breaks off and Mavis takes up a tie from a man sitting a few tables from her. That guy is Luca who owns a non-profit organization that helps immigrants with paper works. They end up having a great time. For the first time, Mavis feels relieved and comforted by Luca. They share a great bond. Throughout the series Mavis talked about how she felt about her body now and then finally found her happy place. Not only did she but her friend Marley found some peace in her fast pace career and found she was a lesbian. Khalil found how happy he was to not fool around with women and settle for one. Whether it’s a model or a normal human being, everybody deserves to be happy with what they have.
Survival of the Thickest– Ending Explained
The Survival of the Thickest has eight episodes. The series had a great start with Mavis and her life as a good girlfriend. Had her boyfriend not cheated on her she would have let him shine and just be in the background. Thought out the series she is seen as taking pains but when she started taking care of herself, she found peace.
Towards the last episode, Mavis was preparing for a big night as a prom for all the gender-fluid people. Luca calls her and tells her that he supports her career and suddenly Jacque appears from behind and she drops her phone deliberately. At the store, she suddenly realizes that her and Jacque’s relationship has scared for life. She takes the best day of her life and makes it to the tee.
She flies to Italy and confesses her love and both kiss each other. In the series, many communities have been reflected and many found their inner peace. The series showed many beautiful aspects of self-love and happiness in what is valued.
