Stranger Things Season 4: Did this character die quietly?

In Stranger Things season 4, a character might have died without being shown to the viewers. We reveal whose fate is still open.

  • Stranger Things season 4 did not reveal what happened to Dr. Owens.
  • The scientist remained in the bunker after Eleven fled from the military.
  • Did Owens die quietly and secretly?

Stranger Things season 4 shocked us with some particularly gruesome deaths. The demise of a fan favorite made fans gulp, but in the series itself, Steve, Nancy and co. seemed to have dealt with the death of their friend very quickly. Also to have been forgotten is Dr. Sam Owens.

It was Dr. Owens who stood by Eleven when she rebelled against Dr. Brenner and wanted to help her friends instead of listening to her “dad.” As punishment for his behavior, Brenner has Owens in tied up and beaten by his people. Owens is in an interrogation room when the military arrives to kill Eleven.

All we see is Owens trying to stop Lieutenant Colonel Jack Sullivan from killing Elf. Owens believes that Eleven is the only one who can stand up to One/Henry. Outside, Eleven brings down the military helicopter carrying the men she is sent to kill.

What happens to Owens is not shown. Does Sullivan have him killed for his insubordination? More likely, Sullivan uses Owens to find and kill Elf, since he knows the most about the girl after Brenner.

Whether Owens will help him, however, is questionable. He will probably have to endure some torture methods of the military in season 5 of “Stranger Things”. However, Dr. Owens could help Eleven in the final battle against Vecna to fully unleash her powers to finally take down the villain.
