Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3: Will we ever get to see the couple again?

Don't miss

Will there ever be Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3? Will we see it soon?

Snow White with the Red Hair is one of the many shoujo programs that fit under the drama, fantasy, and romance categories. Although it might seem that Snow White with the Red Hair and the original Snow White story is somewhat similar, this is not true.

In contrast to Walt Disney’s Snow White, the anime series Snow White with the Red Hair tells the tale of Shirayuki, a young girl with apple-red hair and a local herbalist, as she meets Zen, a little boy who turns out to be the second prince of the town of Clarines. After a series of incidents, they started to fall in love with one another, but because of their social standing, they encountered many obstacles along the way.

Beginning as a Japanese manga series, Snow White with the Red Hair was written and illustrated by Sorata Akizuki. From September 2006 until November 2011, it was first serialized in LaLa DX, a bimonthly shoujo manga publication by Hakusensha. Since then, the series has been published in LaLa, the company’s flagship publication. There are twenty-five volumes that have been released as of May 2022.

Since May 7, 2019, VIZ Media has licensed the manga series in English under the Shojo Beat banner. On April 5, 2022, the 18th volume of the translation is scheduled for publication.

The same-named anime was initially announced in the LaLa magazine published by Hakusensha in its April 2015 issue. Bones, a studio that has gained a lot of recognition since it began, animated the adaptation. Their most well-known anime productions include Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, Noragami, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

The first episode of the 12-episode anime series Snow White with the Red Hair aired on July 7 of that year, and the show ended on September 22 of the same year. On January 5, 2016, a single ova episode aired in its place. Later, on January 12, 2016, the second season debuted. It too had twelve episodes before wrapping up on March 29.

Many fans are clamoring for a third season of Snow White with the Red Hair after the second one has ended due to their unquenchable need for more. So, how far along is the anime in terms of renewal?

As of right now, neither the author nor the production crew has commented on Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3. As nothing has been verified, we are unsure if the season will be renewed or not. The fact that the show hasn’t been canceled is a plus, though.

Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3: Will it be feasible?

Although nothing has been formally announced, it is safe to assume that Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3 is extremely unlikely. The word “fin,” which is actually a French term that translates to “end,” can be clearly seen towards the end of the second season, after all the credits and the music have ended. This might mean that the second season will be the final one we witness and that there won’t be any more seasons.

Not to mention that shoujo manga are typically only adapted into two seasons of anime, like Kamisama Kiss. Additionally, unlike shounen, shoujo shows frequently serve as promotional and marketing tools. Regrettably, it’s probable that the first two seasons’ Blu-ray and DVD sales weren’t great and didn’t generate enough revenue.

Although the studio would have more than enough of them in terms of source material to create a season renewal. Only the first eight volumes of the twenty-five volumes have been covered in the first two seasons. With the material at hand, the studio can easily produce two or even more seasons.

It is reasonable to predict that Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3 would be extremely unlikely given the aforementioned factors. We will, however, keep you informed if a sequel announcement is made in any way.
