Revenant is an upcoming South Korean thriller mystery series which is written by Kim Eun-hee. The K-Drama series is directed by Lee Jung-rim and stars Kim Tae-ri, Oh Jung-Se, and Hong Kyung. The horror series follows the life of a young woman and the mysterious deaths around her.

The show is scheduled to premiere on SBS TV on June 23, 2023, at 22:00 (Korean Standard Time) and will be airing every Friday and Saturday.

Who is starring in The Revenant?
The show which also goes by Devil or Akgwi (악귀) stars Kim Tae-ri, Oh Jung-Se, and Hong Kyong playing the lead roles.
Kim Tae-ri
In the show, Kim Tae-ri plays the role of Gu San-Yeong. Born on April 24, 1990, the actress made her debut film role in the movie ‘The Handmaiden’ (2016) which helped her gain recognition beyond South Korea. She received the Best New Actress Award for the same.
In Revenant, she plays the role of a young woman preparing for the 9th-grade civil service exam. She previously was on the show Twenty-Five Twenty-One where she played the role of Na Hui-do. It will be interesting to see her in a different role compared to her previous work.
Oh Jung-Se
Oh Jung-se plays the role of Yeom Hae-sang who has the ability to see spirits and ghosts. In the series, he comes from a wealthy family and is a University folklore professor. Fate brings him and Gu San-yeong together as they try to solve the mystery around the mysterious deaths that follow her.
Oh Jung-Se was born on January 26, 1977, and began his acting career in the 90s. He has worked both in films as well as television. Some of his notable works include his portrayal of Kim Joo-man in the drama series ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’ (2014).
Other works include, ‘Uncle’ (2021-2022) and Touch Your Heart (2019).
Hong Kyung
Hong Kyung plays the role of Lee Hong-sae who is a lieutenant in the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Violent Crime Investigation Unit. He along with Kim and Oh Jung-se helps uncover the mysteries of the deaths.
The 27-year-old actor has also worked on movies like ‘Innocence’ (2020) and A Distant Place (2020).
The Plot of Revenant
The story revolves around the main protagonist, Kim who is working hard towards her goal of clearing the civil service exam. One day she receives her late father’s belongings and soon after that, unnatural deaths start occurring around her. She seeks help from Yeom Hae, a folklore professor who can see ghosts and is after a ghost that killed his mother. Lieutenant Lee Hong also helps the duo in their quest.
