“Made in Abyss: The Sun Blazes Upon the Golden City,” like its predecessor, will be produced under the direction of Masayuki Kojima (“Monster”) at Studio Kinema Citrus. Hideyuki Kurata (“Goblin Slayer“) is once again penning the script and handling series composition, while Kevin Penkin (“The Rising of the Shield Hero”) is once again on board as music composer.

The 13-episode first season of “Made in Abyss” aired on Japanese television between July and September 2017 and was compiled into two compilation movies in January 2019. The nearly two-hour sequel film “Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul” followed a year later.

LEONINE Anime released the first season as well as the two compilation movies and the sequel movie with Japanese dubbing on DVD and Blu-ray. The manga series by Akihito Tsukushi, which serves as a template.
