Last summer, the series was filmed in Basque Country. When filming began, the show’s creator, Verónica Fernández, remarked, “With the click of a mouse or the sound of a message being delivered, life may alter in an instant. Your private life becomes public in a matter of milliseconds. A button is pushed, unleashing an uncontrollable cyclone. Your privacy also travels from screen to screen at a startling rate, almost like an infection. The idea that many people’s boundaries of intimacy and privacy are imperceptible and the sense of powerlessness these new times create serve as the foundation for this series.”
Intimacy Season 1: Storyline
The series explores the lives of four women who are forced to walk the fine line between what belongs in public and private life after a sex tape of a potential politician is leaked to the press. What boundaries do we set for our intimacy? What happens to our lives when everyone is talking about our privacy?
Laura Sarmiento stated:
“The story of intimacy is one of the images we choose to create and how they don’t match up with reality. The characters in the series live, like us, in a world where the boundaries between what is private and what is public are unpredictable, fluctuating, and bizarre. The show also demonstrates how violating someone else’s privacy can have serious consequences for the victim, rather than just being anecdotal. It is frequently explained away by blaming the sufferer. The series describes this injustice as a barrier to those whose privacy has been invaded speaking up.”

While she decides to silence her detractors, she learns that a bigger scheme is forming in the background.
Many women chose to fight up for their own rights even in the most vulnerable circumstances while being scrutinized and victimized by the rest of the world.
