Special Season 3 Renewal

The first eight episodes of Special’s first season aired on April 12, 2019. Subsequently, the show received a second season renewal for eight more episodes, which was informed to be the final season. Although Connell pursued to extend the short-form wit from 15-minute to half-hour episodes because the show was favorably received. However, Netflix chose to cancel the show after just two seasons.

According to showrunner O’Connell, “This is just the tip! People will be surprised that Special is ending!” The Hollywood Reporter was informed. “I have more tales of people with disabilities to share. I have more gay stories to tell. Really, this is only the start of a new chapter, so hold on tight—I’m coming, sweetheart! However, his stories will regrettably not be available on Netflix as Specials.

“They’ve been dream partners in terms of creativity and have allowed me to make exactly the show that I wanted to make,” he continued. Instead of producing four seasons where I felt like I was compromising creatively, I would prefer to create two seasons of television that are precisely how I see things. It makes me feel incredibly blessed.” Previously, he had three seasons planned.

Special Season Release Date

The Netflix Network has not yet disclosed its intentions regarding the “Special” television series. However, looking at the past timetable, Thursday, May 16, 2024 is most probable when the Special 3rd season will be released.

Special Season 3 Plot

Ryan has experienced paralysis his entire life. Even though he is not in the latter stages of the illness, fighting it off is not simple. Parents continuously reminded their child that he was unique and different from everyone else in an attempt to support him. because this is his passion and his own life’s journey, for which he will one day express gratitude. In an attempt to live up to his past fears and shyness, Ryan chose to rebuild his identity.

Being gay, he felt embarrassed by his physical appearance and sickness and was hesitant to search for companions on his own. In addition, he was reclusive even though he desired friendship. Paralysis was not a death sentence, the man concluded, and he would no longer focus so much.

He will make an effort to live as though nothing oppresses and burdens him going forward. Over the years, he’s polished his ability to philosophise and jest. Perhaps this will serve as his new source of support.
