Aubrey Plaza is the latest addition to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and will feature in t the upcoming show, ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’. The ‘Parks and Recreation’ actor is yet to confirm what her role in the show will be. Amidst speculation of her role, fans will be excited to see Aubrey along with Kathryn Hahn who plays Agatha Harkness in the show.
The upcoming series is created by Jac Schaeffer and will be available on Disney+. The ‘WandaVision’ spinoff is scheduled to premiere in 2024 as a part of Phase 5 of MCU. A lot of cast and crew members from ‘WandaVision’ will be reprising their roles for the series.
Agnes aka Agatha Harkness featured in ‘WandaVision’ as the next-door neighbor of Wanda and Vision. Filming for the show began in January 2023 and ended in May of the same year.
Who is Agatha Harkness?
Agatha Harkness made her debut in Marvel Comics in an edition of Fantastic Four in 1970. In the comics, Agatha has ties to the magical realm of Wundagore and is a governess to Franklin Richards, son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.
Her ‘superpowers’ include mystical abilities, telekinesis, teleportation, and mind control. She also possesses extensive knowledge of dark magic. In ‘WandaVision’ she has an epic showdown with Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
“Covet of Chaos was so fun” – Aubrey Plaza
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old actress revealed that she was very excited to team up with Kathyrn Hahn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rumors suggest that she could be playing the role of a witch in the upcoming series.
“Coven of Chaos was so fun. I wanted very much to work with Kathryn Hahn, I think she’s so great,” Aubrey Plaza said. “And without saying anything really, I had a blast. I loved my character in that as well, and I think it’s the most elevated Marvel material that’s out there. So, it was cool to jump into that world with those people specifically.”
Aubrey Plaza is well known for her role as the intern April Ludgate in ‘Parks and Recreation’ where she played the role for seven seasons. Chris Pratt is another one of the ‘Parks and Recreation’ actors who is now part of the Marvel Universe.
Along with Aubrey Plaza and Kathryn Hahn, fans are also hoping that Elizabeth Olsen makes a return to the show. However, this seems unlikely as Scarlett Witch dies in ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’. However, since she had turned to dark magic, who knows whether or not she will be making a comeback?
