The official Twitter account of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan anime series announced that the final season will get a third part.

While the new season is being referred to as “Part 3 of the ‘final season”, the term “new season” is more appropriate for many fans. The announcement came after the final episode of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 aired.
The third part of the final season is officially titled Attack on Titan: The Final Season Final Arc. A teaser trailer and the key visual of the series have also been released on the official Twitter account of the anime series Shingeki no Kyojin.
There used to be many rumors on social media that the final season of Attack on Titan will end with a movie instead of a final season part 3. The main reason was that there is not enough material for a 12-episode season.

Attack on Titan: Synopsis
Attack on Titan anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, who started manga serialization in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009. The series ended in 2021 after the release of 139 chapters compiled into 34 volumes.
The manga series was picked up by Wit Studio for an anime adaptation, the first anime season was released back in 2013. The second season was released 4 years later in 2017, followed by the third season in 2018. After the release of the third For the fourth season, Wit Studio was unable to continue to animate the Attack on Titan series due to various reasons.
MAPPA Studio has taken over the series for the final season. The first part of the last season aired in 2020 and comprised a total of 16 episodes.
