One of the most famous events for comic lovers is San Diego’s Comic-Con which holds all the meet and greet by comic writers and stars from famous movies like Marvel and DC. Last few years the event is conducted with utmost care keeping all the safety measures. But this year seems to be a little difficult as the writer’s strike could prevail from this meet. As per the reports, no solution for the writer’s strike had been evaluated and the event is just a few days from now.
Writer’s Strike halts Comic-Con
The event is set to be on 19 July and usually, fans know how and when the vents are taking place but the writer’s strike could put the show on pause or canceled. Many studios and big panelist along with stars grace their presence at the biggest comic hub event.
Studios like Marvel Studios, which is famous for its Hall H have mixed signals that whether or not it be present at the event. One of their places is the works like Loki with season two and The Marvels, similarly with Disney. For DC it’s a no-show for fans, this year. Netflix recently held its annual fan fest TUDUM, which is going smoothly, and Sony Universal Pictures’ announcement with Kraven: The Hunter, Gran Turismo, The Exorcist, Strays, etc. are some in line for this event.
Production Houses Didn’t Confirm
On the other hand, David Zaslav-led Warner Bros Discovery has yet to reveal their plans which will feature Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Blue Beetle will be needing a good promotion after The Flash and Shazam Fury of the Gods could not go well on the box office. On the other hand, HBO Max is planning some animation titles for the convention. For Paramount it is expected to join the fest with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, however, its streaming service, Paramount+ has yet to confirm and also some Star Trek shows.
Comic-Con spokesperson David Glanzer said in a statement, “About the strike and its possible effects on Comic-Con, we tend to refrain from speculation or forecasting. I will say, our hope is for a speedy resolution that will prove beneficial to all parties and allow everyone to continue the work they love. Until then, we continue to diligently work on our summer event in the hopes of making it as fun, educational, and celebratory as in years past.”- collider
