‘The Nun 2’ is the highly anticipated sequel to ‘The Nun’ (2018). It is the ninth installment in ‘The Conjuring’ Franchise. The Conjuring is one of the most popular horror franchises in Hollywood and fans are excited to see one of the most scary films from the last decade getting a sequel.
The film is being directed by Michael Chaves, who has also directed two films from the Conjuring Franchise. (The Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It). The Nun 2 Release Date
A sequel to the franchise was revealed by Peter Safran, producer of the first film. Filming of the sequel began in October 2022. A release date has been confirmed and fans can mark their calendars as The Nun 2 is all set for a theatrical release on September 8, 2023. The film is being produced by New Line Cinema along with Atomic Monster and The Safran Company.
What to Expect in The Nun 2?
The Nun 2 is based on the aftermath of the events in the first film. Four years later, Sister Irene decides to visit a school in France, to investigate the murder of a priest, when she comes face to face with Valak, the demonic evil force who has been terrorizing everyone.
Who is Valak? Well, Valak first made an appearance as the main antagonist in ‘The Conjuring 2’, taking on the form of a demonic nun. The character however bears no resemblance to the myth, besides the name. As per the myth, Valak is an angelically winged boy riding a two-head dragon.
With the demons growing more powerful in each iteration of the franchise, fans are hoping that Valak is exorcised once and for all. Will Sister Irene be able to finally get rid of Valak? Hopefully, all the questions will be answered when the movie releases, So far the rest of the plot has been pretty much kept under wraps.
