Once again Midge Maisel stands on her comedy stage, then the final curtain falls. Amazon has now unveiled a teaser trailer and a poster for the fifth and final season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and also confirmed the start date for the series conclusion. On April 14, the fifth season will initially start with three episodes in one go, before the other six will go online in a weekly basis.
In the previous fourth season, Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) tried everything to rebuild her career and reputation. Previously, she had burned all bridges behind her. But in the end, a great success awaited her at New York’s Carnegie Hall, which made her feel confident about the future again. She seemed ready to fight for her fame, equipped with her wit and a sharp tongue – and nothing to lose.
The series was already awarded two Golden Globes for its first season – as the best comedy series, in addition, Rachel Brosnahan was honored as the best leading actress. In the following years, the feminist comedy about the budding stand-up comedian Miriam “Midge” Maisel in the 1950s also became an award darling and has since collected a whopping 20 Emmy Awards. Once again, series creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (“Gilmore Girls”) are responsible.
