Homelanders and the like were yesterday: In “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V,” everything revolves around a younger generation of superheroes. Three episodes have been released in a row, before the series continues on a weekly basis.
Numerous Amazon Prime Video users are familiar with the wacky superhero series superhero series “The Boys“. And now fans can look forward to a new project from the world of Vought, because after the animated series “The Boys: Diabolical” follows the second live-action series “Generation V”.
Generation V: Start of “The Boys” spin-off in September 2023
Since September 29, 2023, the first three episodes are available online in the Prime subscription. Those who have already seen them will miss the other episodes. These appear weekly, always on Fridays, perhaps always starting at 2:00 am. The fourth episode is available to us as from October 6, 2023.
The Boys spin-off: That’s what “Generation V” is all about.
After being introduced to the world of adult supes in three seasons and hopefully at some point in Season 4 of “The Boys,” the new series highlights the lives of a younger generation at Godolkin University. This is run by Vought International and is the only college just for superheroes*. They know that their power is only injected and not a divine gift. At the university, they test their physical and moral limits in the battle for first place. What is right or wrong cannot be precisely defined; those who are ambitious must make sacrifices. Then dark secrets of the university come to light and the students have to deal with which side they want to be on.
What we already know about this new university in the series world is that they put up a Homelander statue. That says quite a bit about the spirit that blows there.
Gen V Cast: These Stars Are Involved
In addition to Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Netflix fans in particular will be familiar with two faces from the cast. They embodied Rosalind Walker (Sinclair) and Ambrose Spellman (Perdomo) in the Netflix series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. Furthermore, a familiar face from the 2000s appears in the series: Sean Patrick Thomas taught Julia Stiles how to dance in “Save the Last Dance.”
In other roles, “Gen V” will feature Lizze Broadway (“Ghosted”), Shelley Conn (“Love Sarah: Love Is the Most Important Ingredient”), Maddie Phillips (“Teenage Bounty Hunters”), London Thor (“Lady Bird”), Derek Luh (“All Rise”), Asa Germann (“Dahmer”) and Marco Pigossi (“Invisible City”). Clancy Brown (“John Wick 4”) and Jason Ritter (“Raising Dion”) will guest star in the series. From “The Boys” cast, we can expect to see Jessie T.
