In Stranger Things season 4, Jim Hopper pulls out a sword in the fight against the Russian Demogorgons. But it is a very special weapon. Did you recognize it?
- Jim Hopper surprisingly wields a sword in the final episodes of Stranger Things season 4.
- He fights with the original sword of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the 80s cult classic “Conan the Barbarian” against the last Demogorgon.
Many an Arnold Schwarzenegger fan will have rubbed their eyes in disbelief in the final episodes of “Stranger Things” Season 4. Because the sword that Jim Hopper wields in the fight against the Demogorgons in the Russian prison is not just any sword!
Our first guess has now been officially confirmed by Hopper actor David Harbour: The sword from is the same one that Arnold Schwarzenegger used in the movie “Conan the Babar”. Not a replica – the real sword from the cult classic!
The Atlantean sword was “heavy as hell,” according to Harbour, but it was a “tremendous honor” to use it. He also said he was willing to take tips from Arnold Schwarzenegger himself about his sword technique.
“Stranger Things” is peppered with numerous references to cult films – including, for example, the “Halloween” movies and various other horror films. But the fact that an original prop from an 80s cult classic is now being used is new.
