Star Trek Picard Season 3: Here’s how the TNG stars influenced Season 3’s stories!

Don't miss

The stars of TNG return in Star Trek Picard season 3. It has now been announced how the actors worked on the plot.

  • Star Trek: Picard Season 3 brings back the stars of The Next Century.
  • To keep the actors and fans happy, the stars even had a say.
  • An official start date for “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3 has not yet been set. Filming has already been completed.

In “Star Trek: Picard” season 3 there will be a big reunion between Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard and his crew from ” Star Trek: The Next Century ” (TNG). While Brent Spiner (Data), Jonathan Frakes (Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Troi) previously starred in Star Trek: Picard, the rest of the stars are returning.

In addition to the stars just mentioned, Michael Dorn (Worf), LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher) have been confirmed for the final season of the popular sci-fi series. As showrunner Terry Matalas has now announced, the stars even had a certain say in their return.

On the Inglourious Treksperts podcast, Matalas explains that he brought the actors and actresses on board when it came time to decide how popular characters have fared since Star Trek: Nemesis.

I didn’t want to do anything they [the stars] didn’t want to do… They’re all busy [when we see them again in Season 3]. We meet them and find out what they are doing now. And some of those answers to what they’re doing now are unexpected. So I wanted them to be content and have a say… They lived through those characters. They went to the conventions. They know what stories are important [to the fans].

The fact that Matalas attaches great importance to the stars being able to have a say is a good sign. The showrunner, who only took over in Season 2, knows what’s important to fans and seems to be trying hard to deliver a satisfying finale. We remain curious.

A start date has not yet been set, but the new episodes have already been filmed and even if we assume a start in spring 2023, it would not be unlikely that “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3 will start in winter 2022.
