He then shares his belief with Hongsae that the spirit purposefully led them to find certain objects and warns that they must investigate if Lee Hyangi has truly departed from San-young’s body.
The following day, San-young appears to care for her mother tenderly, but her mother’s puzzling question, “Who are you?”, raises concerns for Gyeong-mun, realizing that her daughter is not herself. It becomes apparent that Lee Hyangi has fully taken control of San-young’s body. Meanwhile, Hae-sang takes it upon himself to visit the locations where the evil spirit committed its heinous acts and systematically seals the objects one by one. During one of his visits to San-young’s grandmother’s place to secure an object, he faces an attack from Gyeong-mun, who reveals the startling truth about San-young’s possession.
San-young’s Dire Struggle for Control in Revenant
Hae-sang comes to a chilling realization that San-young has become the very shadow they were trying to stop, and the evil spirit now has complete control over her body. Gyeong-mun reveals that the evil spirit demanded her to kill Hae-sang in an attempt to save San-young from its clutches.
Meanwhile in Episode 12 of Revenant, Hongsae tracks down San-young and confronts the possessed entity. He quickly understands that it’s the malevolent spirit and demands it to depart from her. Taking advantage of their absence, San-young goes to the Yeom estate and retrieves the box containing her severed finger in Revenant. However, Hae-sang becomes suspicious and decides to lock the door, doubting that the spirit is trying to deceive them. To protect Hongsae, he sends him to check on Gyeong-mun while he stays behind.
Hae-sang and the malevolent spirit engage in a fierce confrontation, resulting in Hae-sang getting stabbed. As the evil spirit attempts to leave, it encounters the real San-young, who appears on the mirror, blocking its escape in Revenant.

The malevolent entity finally departs, and all of them are saved from its grip. Meanwhile, Hae-sang selflessly donates all his family wealth to charity, and Hongsae resolves all pending cases, providing legal assistance to San-young.
As time passes, San-young’s life takes a new turn, and she enjoys her time completing her dreams. Despite her struggles, she remains strong. However, she chooses not to reveal her eye condition to her mother, shielding her from the burden of worry.
In the poignant finale of Revenant, Hae-sang takes San-young to a mesmerizing fireworks festival, expressing his heartfelt wishes for her. As the fireworks light up the night sky, San-young finds joy in the moment, but her vision suddenly fades, leaving the viewers with a heartrending conclusion. It is heartbreaking to witness San-young, who has spent her life caring for others, now having to cope with visual impairment. There is a lingering feeling that when the evil spirit departed, it could have granted some power to San-young’s eyesight, but it wasn’t meant to be.
